The end of summer is a time of anticipation for polar bears around the port town of Churchill in northern Manitoba. They sweat out the hot summer waiting for the sea to freeze solid so they can get out onto the ice to hunt seals. For several months they laze around town, conserving energy and waiting. Nigel and the crew were able to get close to bears without disturbing them by moving slowly and staying inside vehicles as much as possible.
