Nigel’s Prehistoric Park doesn’t only contain extinct creatures, it’s also home to various modern-day animals, including an entire herd of African elephants. During the series, Nigel rescues a mammoth from the last ice age and introduces it to the elephants- here the matriarch of the herd is checking out the crew’s full-size mammoth head animatronic. Nobody was entirely sure how this tame elephant would react, but she was fascinated by the mammoth and came right up close to investigate the visitor- just as it was hoped she’d do. Seeing these two closely-related elephant species next to each other was quite remarkable.
