Riding Mountain, Manitoba, Canada, 2007: the efficient way to film bears
High summer in the sub-Arctic is a great time to film black bears, especially if youíve got access to a disused school bus thatís been set up as a hide in some woodland. Black bears are surprisingly variable in colour, you can see in this photo that the bear in the frame has rich brown fur. Cameraman Si Wagen has a huge 40x zoom lens on his high-def camera to capture some extreme close-ups of the bears. The lazy soundman canít even be bothered to hold his microphone. The small green tennis racket is an electric device used to fry mosquitoes, which proved essential.
