This bird, also known as the bald-headed rock fowl, is a birdwatcher’s dream. It is an elusive creature that has been sought out by both Gerald Durrell and Sir David Attenborough. Nigel got his chance to see this enigmatic West African bird on a recent birdwatching trip to Nigeria, finally seeing it after a visit to Cameroon in 1999 ended without a single sighting!
