Human Senses, Summer 2003: Nigel's brain as scanned for the BBC series.
Nigel faced many unpleasant tasks in the making of the 6-part Human Senses series. He had a concrete block smashed over his chest with a sledgehammer, inhaled the world's worst smell, entered a chilli-eating competition and endured numerous zero-G nose-dives in the "Vomit Comet" aeroplane. However, Nigel reckoned the worst experience was being cocooned in a medical scanner so that a 3D image of his brain could be taken. Apparently it's a tremendously claustrophic experience, and to make matters worse you're strapped in tight so that nothing moves during the scanning process. We hope the resultant image was worth the effort- and please note that the colours are false, Nigel doesn't really have a blue brain…
